Seven Myths About The Brain

Each of us has heard that listening to classical music affects intelligence. This is just one of the myths that people believe in, which is totally wrong.

We only use 10% of our brain. We use 100% of our brain, just not every part at once.

We can learn from subliminal messages. In 1957 a market researcher made it up to promote his work. Despite being banned by the FCC in 1974, there is no evidence proving subliminal messages work.

We are either left-brained or right-brained. We use both sides equally. They work together to solve everything.

The bigger brain – a smarter man. It is more about the ratio of brain to body weight.

Alcohol kills brain cells. Alcohol use does not result in the death of brain cells. It can damage the ends of nerve cells but that is mostly reversible.

Brain damage is always permanent. The synapses can create new pathways between nerve cells. Healthy parts of the brain take over for the damaged parts.

Now that is something to think about.
